Project title “Research and development of 3D printing technology for medicines”, project no. 01.2.1-LVPA-K-856-01-0181.
The aim of the project is to create JSC “Layer Pharma“ R&D infrastructure and smart 3D pharmaceutical tablet technology.
Project tasks:
- to create the company’s R&D infrastructure;
- to develop composites of medicines and binders that would allow 3D printing of medicines and provide controlled release kinetics of the active substance, to create an initial 3D tablet architecture to control the kinetics of active substances, to allow the incorporation of several substances into a tablet, to separate incompatible substances;
- develop and test a personalized tablet production protocol, create a test batch of tablets.
The project runs under measure No. 01.2.1-LVPA-K-856 “Experiment”.
The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Funded as part of the European Union’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The total budget of the project is 892,352 EUR, the received EU funding is 587,358.9 EUR, JSC “Layer Pharma” invests EUR 304,993.1 of its own funds in the implementation of the project.
